At Montessori Educare Palmerston North, we offer a program influenced by Maria Montessori’s education philosophy. Our experienced educators focus on your child’s social, emotional, physical and cognitive needs to promote lifelong learning and real-world readiness. We work with families and whānau to develop a curriculum that integrates the values of the entire community. As a multicultural centre we respect the bicultural heritage of Aotearoa New Zealand.

Our Daily Routine 

Our daily routine is structured, familiar and engaging to encourage your child’s holistic growth. Our educators focus on empowering your child to learn and explore while maintaining a safe and supportive environment. 

8:00am – 10.00am
Inside Only Independent work cycle
(both classrooms open and morning tea offered throughout session on morning tea tables)

10.00am – 11:00am
Outside Opens - Inside/Outside Independent work cycle
(children are free to choose from structured activities inside or outside)

11:00am – 11:30am
Circle Time, Hand-washing & Lunch Prep. 
(children meet in their classrooms for discussions on current curriculum topics, alongside songs, stories, music and movement)

11:30am – 12:00pm
Lunchtime
(children sit down and enjoy lunch together with their class) 

12:00pm – 12:45pm
Indoor/Outdoor Free Flow
(both classrooms are open and children are free to choose from structured and free play activities inside or outside)

Our Team

All of our staff members are carefully selected for their dedication and experience in early childhood education and the Montessori philosophy. 

Christine and Lincoln Jones (owners) have owned Montessori Educare since 2005. Their three sons went through Montessori Educare. They are passionate about providing high quality education and care to all families.

Charlotte Williams (office manager) joined the team in 2009. She coordinates day-to-day workings in the office to ensure the centre runs smoothly. 

Anna Phillips (team leader/educator) joined the team in 2005. She holds full NZ teacher registration and has a Bachelor of Teaching (Early Years), a Post Graduate Diploma of Teaching (ECE), a Montessori Teaching Diploma and a Certificate in First Aid.

Leilana Kereama (educator) joined the team in 2010. She holds full NZ teacher registration and has a Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood Education), a Certificate in Montessori Education (3-6yrs) and a Certificate in First Aid.

Renata Weavers (educator) joined the team in 2016. She holds full NZ teacher registration and has a Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood Education) and a Montessori Teaching Diploma (3-6) and a Certificate in First Aid.

Ashleigh McPherson (educator) joined the team in 2022. She holds her Provisional Teacher Registration and has a bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood Education) and a Certificate in First Aid.

Leigh-Anne Marais (educator) joined the team in 2023. She holds full NZ teacher registration and has a Bachelor of Education (General Education) and a Certificate in First Aid.

Linda Williams (relief educator) joined the team in 2012. She holds full NZ teacher registration and has a Bachelor of Teaching and a Montessori Teaching Diploma (3-6).
